About

So this is the bit when you got bored / interested / angry / incredulous / (some other motivating emotion) enough to click on About.  So having got here, I guess I’d better reward that finger exercise, eh?  So here goes!

 About Me

My name is Peter, and I am currently living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  I’m an orthodox Anglican Christian.  Married too, with family.  I’m not planning to give a further drill-down on personal details at the moment so that’ll have to do for now.

About this blog

So, what’s the raison d’être here?  Well, the reason is two-fold.  Number one reason, the biggest, is all down to the prophetic. I’ve been moving in Christian prophecy for a number of years now and think/hope that now is the time to branch out a little and make my scribblings available to a wider audience.  Who may or may not be interested, but that’s not for me to worry about.  Let God have the glory, may His will be done.

There are a number of prophecies that speak to a wider audience, and if I am aware of one thing, it is this:  it is a time to get prepared.  Be sure of your foundations, for there is a storm coming.

So, Peter, how do we know that you are speaking truthfully?  The short answer is, you do not.  I could tell you that I’m part of a prophetic listening group, that words come under the leadership of the Church.  But since you don’t know me, I could just be making that up.  This, really, is something you have to discern yourself.  My prayer is that what is of Him may increase, and what is of me may decrease.

I offer this blog as part of the watchman mantle:

Ezekiel 33 v1-6

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, speak to your countrymen and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head. 5 Since he heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had taken warning, he would have saved himself. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.’

Look!  Listen!  Hear!  I am blowing the trumpet!

The other part of ‘the reason for being’ is this.  I’m an Anglican. In common with much of the Christian world our denomination is tearing itself apart as adherents of two different religions within one church are at war with each other.  Hopefully the outcome will be positive in the end.  In the meantime there is a lot going on, and therefore lots to blog about.

Now, there are lots of websites already devoted to Anglican news, so I’m not planning on reinventing the wheel.  What I hope to achieve is to bring a wider, prophetic, viewpoint to the current issues. That will also include events other than our Anglican squabbles.

So that’s it in a nutshell, and hey – you got to the bottom.  Well done for staying the course!  :-)

Blessings,

Peter

  1. Just saw your website on CANN – this is wonderful – having a prophecy site from the Canadian Anglican view. Thank you.

  2. You’re very welcome :-) I’m on CaNN? I must pop over there and see I guess!

  3. I read this the first time I visited your site, but wanted to read it again. When I got to the bottom I smiled when I read you had been a meteoroligist ( I didn’t remember this ) I love how the Lord speaks to us in ways that are especially close to us…. storms, Tsunamis, winter…
    though we are all getting simliar pictures;
    ok, now I am rambling!
It just blessed me, that’s all! : )

I’m still praying for you Peter!

    Susan

  4. I am so pleased to see what you are doing Peter. I commend this site to all who are wanting to hear more clearly what the Lord is saying to us in our own day.

As the parish priest of the Anglican Church, St Augustine’s, of which Pete is both a member and a leader, I thank God for how he is using you to enable us to become more obedient to His kingdom call.

    Love in Christ,

    Jonathan

  5. THOUGH THE GROUND MAY SHAKE . . . BE GROUNDED

Grounded: the secure feeling of being in touch with reality

The Lord says to his people
    be grounded
be grounded in what you believe
    be grounded in My Word
    be grounded in Me
    in the reality of eternity
    for dark days are ahead
    ones of sorrow and tribulation
    of despair
    hopelessness
    and death
do not be grounded in the world ~
if you are, you’ll collapse when it’s shaken
instead know what you believe and in whom you believe
keep your heart and your mind on your Savior
and though the ground may shake
    uncontrollably
    you will stand
    stand in faith and peace
    if you’re grounded
    grounded
    in Me.

  6. Amen Cheri – thank you very much for the poem. We need to be grounded on the Rock!

  7. So here I am since Susan & Abmi are gone for a bit. I’m not sure what Orthodox Angelican really is but that is okay b/c I don’t really claim a denomination. It has all become religious legalistic confusion to me. BUT i do love Jesus. :) And Shadrach, Meshach and Abendego are my bestest mates even if they are deceased.

  8. Ah, you don’t want to get too hung up on denomination. :-) Call it my Christian family if you like.

    Anyways, welcome!

  9. when my son reuben was 7 he entered a battle for his life with a kidney disease. God spoke to him in terms of the boat on the stormy seas. He showed him small white creatures in the ocean chomping away trying to eat him. . (which i saw as the white corpuscle) He told him to stay in the boat with Jesus in order to get to the other side. He stood up in church and gave this faith message. Since then he has brought many a prophetic word of encouragement, direction and healing. And praise God, he was healed almost a year later, when a woman called him out to be prayed for. She “saw” a sword from heaven resting over him in a bible study group.
I think our life in the spirit walk IS a life of prophecy. Only sometimes it is for the nation and sometimes it is foir the edification, exortation, and healing of the body of Christ. To distinguish a prophet only on the merit of a word of warning to the nation, I feel, is to miss the overview of the gift intended by God for His church.
Peter, if there is a prayer chain there in Calgary, I have just heard this morning, of a young woman with three children who has yesterday undergone surgery that was supposed to be quite a simple operation but has entered into a more serious condition., Her name is Jessica and could she be placed on an imediate prayer chain. thank you chris

  10. Chris,

We have a church prayer group, but I’m not involved with a formal prayer chain. Nontheless, I will pray.

I think there is a distinction between the gift of prophecy and a prophet. All can walk in one, the other is a gift given, and as you say involves a lot more than giving words – there is a mantle associated with it.

Anyway, I am a bit leery of all these designations, simply because it has been so overused and abused that the reputation is tarnished.

    Blessings,

    Peter

  11. Peter. Thanks for prayer. The said woman is doing much better. In days of Elijah, prophets went to school, and no doubt underwent rigorous testing. In the new dispensation, I think the training begins with life itself. only those whose gift is given into the Masters hand to be sharpened and honed, and whose hearts have been through the refiners fire, can truly hit their mark .
By what is being preached today, not too many people would actually find Jesus on the path that they are on. Have you ever played “chinese whispers”
I could open my Bible just about anywhere and speak out a scripture and I would be correct in saying”thus saith the Lord”
To truly “make way for the Lord” I would have to be a hair’s breadth away from Him. to hear Him coming.

  12. And the closer you are to God, the futher you are away from the world.

  13. peter. I am new to the Anglican way. Certain things stand out. Like the leader of the bible study actually declared, (I felt as a warning) that she did not believe the bible literally.

    Is this the “anglican” way??

Also, I am very aware that there is soo much sickness. And the first response unit seems to be the medical profession. Where is God’s victory on the cross. Where is His promoise of healing. to the Anglicans. Or was it just to the pentecostals.

    And where are the MIRACLES.

how far has the Anglican church deviated from the great foundational teachings of such authors a John Pilkington Norris. The Church must dig deep deeper deepest into the great truths of Christ and His Church. How can “she” ever portray to a lost and dying world Christ’s great plan for His bride if we do not know or understand the deepest most fundamental plan.

Do you know, Peter. Every lady in the bible study was content to quietly go about her daily business never opening her mouth to speak out her christianity to the people around her.

What of the Great Commission. Go Ye therefore into all the world, and make disciples of all men. Has western affluence so grabbed our heart that we do not assume the need to speak out to the “wealthy” lost sinner.

    May Jesus help us all.

  14. Chris,

The Anglican way has much going for it. Unfortunately it has been hijacked (at least in the first world) by those who hold the trappings but seem to believe something very much different than the faith once delivered to the Saints.

The words used are very similar, but the truths understood are very different – as you have seen. So yes, I do know, I know this battle very well. What it amounts to in the western world is an apostate institution, and a very sick body.

There are some who resist – though it seems that the time will come very soon when it will be time to leave. Everybody has a story on this one – it’s pretty messy, especially for somebody new to Anglicanism.

The good news is that not all the body is sick, some parts in the ‘third world’ are healthy and vibrant – albeit suffering from the toxins of our sickness in the west.

Now, it’s not just us – other denominations are running exactly the same kind of battles. The really good news is that God is very much still in charge! :-)

  15. Peter,
Just found this site through a link on Stand Firm. I am mightily impressed. I will be coming back to catch up and study what you have to say. The first post of yours that I read was about the Wasp’s Nest analogy. That was a very deep and moving post.

    Will visit again!
PS:The website link is to the Shelter in the Storm church list that my wife maintains. If you know of any “safe” churches – read the introduction on the site – in Canada, perhaps you could send them to her. I might be able to persuade her to expand into Canada.

  16. Hi Allen – I answered you in the wasps nest analogy, I hope the list helps a bit!

  17. don’t you just feel so.o.o blessed to know Him???

  19. Just wanted to say “Hi”. Keep blowing the trumpet.

  20. Thanks, I shall try to!

    Friday Night

    Hello again, Peter,

I am having the time of my life, as I navigate your website. I am always curious and passionate about knowing more about our Lord, Jesus Christ, and the Father with His extreme LOVE, and of course His most Holy Spirit and His teaching. What a thrilling adventure with the Divine.

This time in my life is so much more, than I ever knew was possible before I was saved. Just so you can know me a little bit, Passion is the motivation, that brought me to this website blog.

I love your blogs, Peter. I say blogs, as plural, because I submitted a different comment in another part of your website. I hope you don’t mind. I am delighted, that they are so easy to use and well as being very interesting. I don’t know much about blogs. So, I am just trying to learn, as I go.

Thank you for the warm welcome and the invitation to comment. I appreciate the opportunity to express myself in writing. I, also, enjoy the interaction between the viewer’s comments and your response. It’s all so-o-o good. God is good to give us such a medium, as the internet, where we can get together and share the gifts He has given us.

It’s when we share our gifts, that the gifts we’ve been given begin to shine. I think of it, as NOT hiding our Light under a bushel. What was it, that the Lord urged us to do?

It can be found in Matthew 5:16…”Let your light shine so before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

When we are open and honest in ALL, that we do, and not tethered down by sin and evil deeds, our light WILL naturally shine forth, as glory to God, our heavenly Father.

The Lord amazes me all the time. I thought, Peter, I was going to write to you about something altogether different. I was going to comment on your blog about Ezekiel 33:1-6. Well, the Lord is running the show, ya know. So-o-o, I guess that comment is for another time. Bless the Lord with a heart full of praises, and a voice of triumph.

This has been fun for me, Peter. I love you’al who write in with comments too. You help and encourage me immensely. I’ll talk to you’al again, later.

I love ya’ in the Lord,
    Judith L. Harless

  22. Thank you Judith for your kind words. I’m glad the site is helpful! Blogs can be a good way to get a message across, and it’s always nice to get feedback. I’ve met a few interesting folk this way!

  23. [...] When I set up this blog in September 2006, I said I was focusing on two things – firstly the prophetic, but also Anglican [...]

  24. Peter,

Good Morning! I found your website quite interesting. Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been a non-denominational Christian for 7 years now. God has allowed me to go through an extremely long a difficult storm (3 years). One which has brought many problems big and small. In His way they are being resolved for His glory.

Just before this time period began my church was in a time of deep prayer to reveal the prophets. I feel, I have that gift. It began with my knowing things about people without explaination. In recent months, (4) I began having dreams. You see I have never been one to remember my dreams. I recently found the website above and find that it speaks to me, but need an outside experienced Christain source to review.

I would truly be blessed if you could check this out and let me know. I’m sure your a very busy person, but my church does not encourage or discourage prophetic gifting,. Knowing that I have this gift leaves me in unfamiliar territory because I only have one other friend with this same gift, and she goes to a different church.

    Thank you and God bless!
    Liz

  25. The website http://ft111.com/? I’ll have a look, though usually a better judgment comes from getting a sense over a period of time.

OK, I’ve had a look. Nothing immediate jumps out at me as being a problem, though they may be into dispensational pretribulational teaching, which I do not believe is correct.

My advice is to ask a question here: http://www.revivalschool.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=4 You may find that somebody else has more experience with them.

Lastly, I’d encourage you as much as possible to join together with other people who may be prophetically gfifted. I know that may be difficult – but they are out there. The site above has geographical forums, so you might ask to see what groups are out there in the correct forum?

    Blessings,

    Peter

PS You might find this book helpful, I know I did: http://grahamcooke.com/index.php?fuseaction=ecom.ecom_item_detail&item_id=229

  26. Peter,

Thank you for checking it out. I just visited the revival school website. It seems to be a pretty informative place. You’re right it should help me get into contact with other prophetically gifted people.

I did some research on dispensational pretribulation, but it seems a little confusing. I think what it means is that the church will be removed from the earth before Christ returns? When I looked each word up separately, in the dictionary, it meant the distribution of calamaties. As in calamaties will happen to believers, which is obvious because of free will. These two differ, which causes my confusion.

I will definitely check out that book too. I have read other books on hearing His voice, but none have been specific to prophecy.

I really appreciate all of your help. Have a blessed day

    Liz

  27. You could try this Liz: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dispensationalism

Kind of makes your head hurt a bit. I wouldn’t worry too much about it though – the main thing is Christ alone. He is sufficient for all – jew or greek! Dispensationalism seems to me to put a seperation between the two again. As far as pretribulation, I don’t personally believe there is a very strong case, however my main concern would be with the fruit, in that many folks seem to trust in the rapture more than Christ.

Like I said, the main thing is to trust in worship and obey Christ! If he is your head, and you are in fellowship with the rest of His body, you cannot go far wrong.

    Blessings,

    Peter
