Prophetic website review

The good thing about the Internet is the wealth of content out there. However, this is also the bad thing about the Internet. The challenge is always to find the pearls amidst the rest. This challenge applies just as much to the prophetic. There is an abundance of prophetic content out there, of varying quality. And never enough time to read, inwardly digest the heart and exercise judgment as to whether this is indeed something of God, or not.

So this page is my summary of what prophetic websites I have seen, and my current take what seems good, and what is less so. Of course, it is far from exhaustive, but I offer it in hope that it might be a helpful guide to you.

Now, this is of course all dependant on whether you consider me to be a trusted source. That, I cannot help you with really. ;-) You might like to read my ‘About’ page, a testimony of the prophetic gift and what is I suppose a foundational prophetic word, and make up your own mind.

Elijah List  – http://www.elijahlist.com/
This is one of the more popular prophetic websites with a large number of words given from well-known people and ministries.  Steve Shultz (the editor) seems like a very compassionate and gentle Christian man and undoubtedly there are good words within the site.

However (you did hear that however, didn’t you) I really have a difficult time with it.  The site design does not help, which is in dire need of some TLC for simple readability.  Style issues aside, I have some significant questions in my mind regarding what I see there:

  1. Firstly, I see the cult of personality deeply embedded within this site.  I really have an issue with that.  Who do we worship?  God, or the princes of this world?

Am I being overharsh?  Perhaps.  It seems to me to be idolatry though.  I wonder whether it is just cultural?  I’m not American, so perhaps I do not understand.  Then again, perhaps I understand only all too well.  You be the judge.

  2. Then there are the fluffy words, or the words that seem to be more about satans’ prosperity gospel than the gospel of our Lord.  We’re always just waiting for that next wonderful move of the Lord, just around that next corner.  Until you get to that next corner, when there’s another corner.  How much are we just wanting to hear what our itching ears want to hear, without any hard graft to go with it?

That’s not to say that I do not think that the Lord is planning to bring revival and blessing.  I think He is – but in no easy fluffy way.  The storm is coming.

  3. Then lastly – mammon.  Come shop???  The Lord would overturn these tables as He overturned the tables at Jerusalem.  Away with it!!

Of course Christians should be permitted to sell books/CDs. A worker deserves his wages.  But when I see so much of ‘buy this’ or ‘buy that’, I just think of those that profaned the Lords temple.

Sorry inasmuch as this comes across very harsh.  But I stand by what I say.  Visit the Elijah List as you wish – but I advise you to exercise discernment.

Revival Schoolhttp://65.108.220.179/.
Andrew Strom, who runs this site, has split from the prophetic movement as evidenced by Elijah List.  A lot of what is said in there speaks to my spirit – the shaking of the lukewarm church and how much of Christianity we have lost in the West.  I do not know enough about the history behind this split and what actually happened, so do be cautious.

Much of this site is forum based, and you can find some real gems, but also some dubious stuff. However, that is really par for the course in semi-moderated forums.

In favour of this site would be that unlike many prophetic sites the moderators do not appear to hold to the pretribulation dispensationalist eschatological belief.

Now, I am no expert on all the different eschatological viewpoints. However I have come to believe dispensationalist pretribulation is wrong, both in the denial of Christs’ sacrifice as sufficient for all people – Jews included; and in the the convenience of a theory that allows us to live in comfort now – to be whisked away at the first hint of trouble. Is this what the Bible really says? I am mindful of John 16 v33:

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

So Revival School, yes, this is a site I visit, mindful of the caveats above.

Spirit Daily  – http://www.spiritdaily.org/
This is a Catholic prophetic site that I visit from time to time. I think I would be fairly neutral about this site – there are some really helpful and insightful articles that have resonated within me, witnessing to the Spirit of God.  However, unsurprisingly there is an emphasis on the whole Marian angle as well as weeping statues and the suchlike which is a road I cannot go down.

I would respect and honour Mary, but the Catholic dogmatic definitions of Mary, such as co-redemptrix, are wrong in my opinion, in that at the very least they obscure Jesus’s sacrifice and place as the one mediator between God and man.

So, by all means visit Spirit Daily, but exercise cautious discernment.

Graham Cooke   http://grahamcooke.com/
I trust what I have seen of Graham in his prophetic ministry. He seems to have his head screwed on right and has been a real blessing to me.  Most of my understanding of the prophetic gift has come through reading his book ‘Developing your prophetic gifting’.  I have not read much from his recent works or ministry, so I cannot comment further.

Mark Mallet
http://www.markmallett.com/blog/
I regularly read Marks blog and can testify to the truth of much of what I read. Mark truly has the heart of Jesus and is speaking wisdom to these times in which we live.

One caveat though, the same one as Spirit Daily. Mark is very strong on the Marian angle, which I cannot ascribe to. At its best this seems a distraction, at the worst close to idolatry. Perhaps I misunderstand, but this is what I see.

I think I would end up both strongly recommending a visit, but strongly cautioning on this angle.

Faithwalk
http://faithwalk.wordpress.com/
Susan is a friend, so I have to be nice don’t I Susan? ;-) All joking aside, I highly recommend Susan’s blog, both for prophetic and for other content. We have a very similar heart and understanding of these times. Susan’s heart for the Lord is an inspiring testimony. Can I say more – just go visit!

Grace County
http://timbob.wordpress.com/
Another great WordPress blog, with some prophetic and lots of edifying posts.

Timbob has some good links on his sidebar – but I would say (and I think he would concur) ‘buyer beware’ – there’s some good content in those links, and some less good content. Once again, please go visit.

Homeward Bound
http://mikeboldea.blogspot.com/
A new blog, this one from Mike Boldea of Hand of Help Ministries. I knew nothing about them until I found them via Timbobs links. After some browsing and after viewing Mikes blog, I can highly recommend a visit. Mike Boldea appears to be a humble and genuine Christian prophetic leader.

Like I said this is far from a comprehensive list, rather just my take on prophetic sites that I have visited. There are some not mentioned here that I would probably not recommend, however I’d prefer not to dwell on the negative but extol the positive. Elijah List is my one exception to this rule as it so well known and is more of a clearing house for a certain section of the prophetic movement than one specific ministry.

There are other sites that I simply do not know well enough and have not had enough time yet to be able to form an opinion one way or another.

This page will probably get updated in the future. Please feel free to comment on anything I’ve written or highlight any site not here that you have found edifying.

God bless you,

Peter

Revision 2 – October 2007

Responses

  1. Peter,
Very glad to see you take this on, which means, of course, proclaiming that the gift of prophecy, or at least the area of prophetic word, is one you believe you have been called to by the Lord.

One of my spiritual gifts is the word of knowledge especially in terms of healing and discernment in spiritual warfare. Your sharing on exorcism was brave (Anglican-wise) and helps open up new vistas for our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Two prophets that I’ve personally come into contact with and received teaching from are Dennis Cramer (who will be visiting the Cathedral of St. James in Fresno again, this next winter) http://www.denniscramer.com, and Doug Addison http://www.dougaddison.com .

Both have important facets of biblical prophecy to offer and teach. Dennis is especially thorough in his “School of Prophecy”, in which he is very frank about his concerns of some of the heavily advertised “prophetic conferences” depending on who’s involved. Doug has taken prophetic message straight into contemporary evangelistic technique, and it is amazing stuff. Both push the need for every Christian to be open to God’s desire to use them prophetically, as all are called to see at least their role in evangelism, even if not “the gifted ones.”

I don’t know of Graham Cooke’s stuff, but I’ll try to get a hold of some of it. I’m still absorbing the teaching and material from Cramer and Addison, both of which have come to my attention only within the 15 months.

    Check ‘em out.

  2. Thanks Rob, I will certainly do that.

The book that I heartily recommend by Graham is titled ‘Developing your prophetic gifting’. It can be summarised as an ABC of how to work with the prophetic in the church – including some of the dangers and pitfalls.

I guess some of my problem has been in finding prophetic resources from people who are trustworthy. There is plenty of wacky stuff out there!

  3. Graham’s book title sounds like it contains much of the same intention of Dennis’ book entitled “You Can All Prophesy: Stepping Out With Integrity”

    This is the promo blurb:
“It is an historical fact that first century Christians openly embraced and actively participated in the powerful gift of prophecy. So can you! Indeed, they were a very active prophetic laity. These were not just a few, strange, unapproachable, mystical prophetic types sitting on mountaintops somewhere, dressed in camel’s hair, eating locust and honey, and hearing audible voices. Not at all! Rather, the entire church body, every man and woman who named the name of Christ, understood and experienced the gift of prophecy. They were a highly prophetic people. Today, in the 21st century, you can be too!”

There is also a very helpful 26 page introduction wherein Dennis describes the discovery and identification of spiritual gifts.

Not trying to sell it – just to let you know there are parallel materials out there (perhaps not many trustworthy ones) which would partially imply God’s move in this area for the Body of Christ.

Initially, I like what I see on Graham’s website.

    • To Both Peter and Rob:
I’m interested/fascinated with Biblical Prophesy. I think that it all began when I read Dr. Tim LaHaye’s Left Behind series. Once I began, I was hooked. I read all 14 books. He and Jerry Jenkins did excellent work there. One Sunday morning, I saw Pastor John Haggee on television and was “hooked” once again on prophecy. I desire to know what the Holy Bible is telling us in regards to things to come. Sort of like that movie “Knowing” with Nicholas Cage. I want to know what’s gonna be here before it gets here. Just a little tidbit of one of the other prophecy fanatics out here. Peace. J.W.

      • Hi John,

Thanks for your comments. I do beleive the most important thing is to be walking with God, whatever may come. Much of prophecy is about calling people back to a right relationship with God, more so than predicting the future. The latter, when it occurs, is often in relation to the former.

        Blessings,

        Peter

  4. Thanks again for the info Rob.

‘An active laity’ – now don’t get me started on all that, heh.

That 26 page introduction could be interesting – I’ve been looking for something that we could use as a church to help people identify spiritual gifts.

  5. Hi Peter,
Some of the best teaching on prophetic ministry from an Anglican point of view would the writings of the late Anglican Evangelist David Watson such as One In The Spirit,I Believe In Evangelism, I Believe In The Church and Called And Committed(English printing Discipleship).
    Pat

  6. Of those,I Believe In The Church and Discipleship have the most discussion of prophetic ministry, not a lot but head and shoulders better than most in prophetic circles.

  7. I might have some of those – must do some digging in our library!

  8. Michael Harper had an excellent one as well, called Walk In The Spirit

  9. Sam Storms’ A Beginner’s Guide To Spiritual Gifts is awesome as well as anything by RT Kendall

  10. On a sidenote,I think God may be doing a bit of upsetting and resetting with a lot of prophetic folks in the next while. My inkling is that there’s going to be a lot tighter control on what’s called prophecy and that it’s going to have to fit in (be in agreement)with THE FAITH,not the individualized faith some have translated into many translations,no personal pronoun preceeding faith in Romans 12:6.

  11. Yes, I think I agree. A lot of the prophecy I see seem to be fluffy ‘me’ words that seem weak at best and false at worst. Couse, I could be wrong, but I don’t always get a good sense when I read some stuff that’s out there at the moment.

  12. Funny how little people in the prophetic circles don’t make much use of 1 Thess.5:21-22 in the ministry, especially the examine everything carefully part or that in 1 Cor.12:10 that prophecy and discernment are tied together.

  13. meant to say funny how little people …..make use of
    my apologies

  14. It may be that some of those in established ministries are pressured to prophesy, thereby creating man-made words.

Yes, discernment is most certainly called for.

  15. I read recently somewhere that prophecy is tied to the gift of discernment just as tongues is to interpretation of tongues..

  16. Yes, I agree. Prophecy without discernment is a dangerous thing indeed!

  17. In my experience discernment comes to us as we lean into Christ (the anointed One) and His Holy Spirit that we’ve been given as a depost guaranteeing what is to come. I’ve walked with the Lord for over 20 years and have had many experiences that are prophetic in nature. The Lord has called me into a prophetic office and yet I refuse to go around calling myself that or requiring others to call me, “the prophet.” I’ve understood that the prophetic office is a function and not a personal hang up that feeds ones need to be accepted or to be promoted. I am already accepted in the beloved because I’m a child of the King and my name is written in heavens registry. I have a problem with people who feel the need to promote themselves as a prophet or apostle. In my experience there are many who think they are called, but truly there be few who are in fact chosen by the Lord for this office. Let us remember that in eternity prophesy will cease. And all that remains will be LOVE!

  18. Just out of curiosity…have you read anything thats been published by Rick Joyner? And what is your view on the books he has published?

  19. Hello Rick, thanks for dropping by. Yes, the whole ‘prophet’ thing is one I don’t care to go too deeply on either. It distracts from God, and focuses on the person. It’s a bit like standing on the watchtower and calling folks attention to stuff, and then finding them pointing at you and saying ‘hey look at that person’. It’s not really the point, eh?

Rick Joyner – well I have heard of him but I have not read anything yet. Well, with a large family and minor distractions like a job to hold down, it’s a wonder I get to read anything at all ;-)

    Blessings,

    Peter

  20. I just noticed this page ( how terribly unobservant I can be! )

Hmm. well I’m with you on the Elijah list, looked at it twice, it was enough.
I haven’t seen the others so I’ll have to check them out.
I am reading a Graham Cooke book now, so far so good, but heard a tape once which was such a blessing, I look forward to this conference my friend is taking me to.

Rick Joyner? we’ll talk about that privately. ;- )

Bless you Peter, and be encouraged!

    Susan

  21. Hi Susan,

Glad you stopped by this page. I guess it’s really in ‘beta’, and I’d probably want to revise my optinions some more from 6 months ago. Tell you what, if you have some input, send it on to me and I’ll add it to the page! Blessings,

    Peter

  22. i think grahamcooke wrote the book about being truly saved – it’s not just saying a prayer and going on your merry way, but so much more than that… :)

  23. Hi again code :-) Y’know I’ve been meaning to rewite this page, I’ve shifted in my thought on some websites, and I think people have a right to my revised opinions ;-)

  24. dear peter. Rick Joyner has had a prophetic ministry for quite some time. check out Morning Star web site. also he has published some very interesting books. “Harvest” “The Final Quest” and” Hordes of Hell” I personally have had some great insights and revelations from Harvest and Final Quest. I believe Rick Joyner also prophesied 9-1-1- two years prior to its happening. and also drew from the vision that he received, a burning tower and the word anthrax written across the sky. i find hard to believe that anyone can “decide” to become a prophet. either god calls you or . . .
any way Peter. Who ARE you? ( and that is not who are YOU?) do you pastor teach prophecy? chris

  25. A couple of things Chris – firstly I think I want to revamp this page anyway….when I get around to it, hmm. That may change some stuff, but I still am not impressed with Elijah List or some of the stuff that is posted there. Course, that’s just my opinion – informed I think, though others may think otherwise.

I do not know Rick Joyner, though I have heard of him. A lady who I know and trust has certain thoughts on his ministry, but for me to comment I would have to know a little more about him. Something for the revamp of this page, perhaps.

Lastly, I agree, nobody can decide to be a prophet. It’s a calling. You want to know my story a little more, read this: http://theagetocome.wordpress.com/the-giving-of-a-gift. Y’know I’m just as happy that the term ‘prophet’ not be used at all, often it is a distraction away from the things of the Lord.

Anyway, as to who I am – the About page will tell you enough for now. I hope that helps you some.

    Blessings,

    Peter

  26. I would not touch the Elijah List with a ten foot pole.
They are like God to people. And where does that put the real God? Or the Holy Spirit?
On the back of the stove I think.
It’s time christians quit worshipping prophets and get back to God.
Who is the only One who has the all answers people are looking for.
    GBY

  27. Yup, the only job of a prophet is to point people to God. People being people, like to worship the messenger. And prophets being people, they like to be worshipped too.

This particular gift often seems an inherently dangerous one. It’s like pointing folk to something and finding them looking at your finger.

That’s why all prophetic ministry should be grounded in the body of Christ and accountable.

    Blessings,

    Peter

  28. Technically, i believe from Eph. 4, the role of the prophet is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. Since I’m not in a church with a strong phophetic emphesis, I need “prophets” outside my fellowship to help equip me (as well as the apostles and the evangelists) to do the work of the ministry.

I must understand they “prophecy in part,” just like I “teach in part,” “pastor in part,” etc. and I’m not put off by their lack of perfection or the package the truth comes in. As a believer, I discern truth and then ignore the rest.

That said, I’ve been greatly blessed by the Elijah List. i put up with their “package” to receive the truth and learn. That’s what Christian maturity is all about. I say the same thing about Christian TV–if you want truth you can see it, even through the “distractions.”

    Grace and peace,

    Cliff

  29. I think the five-fold ministry outlined in Eph 4 is indeed about ‘preparing Gods people for works of service’, thereby to build up the body of Christ. And that ’s what a prophet is for, I think, calling folk to radical holiness, tearing down the structures of man, building the things of God that build the bride of Christ up. Kind of comes down to pointing, or reorientating people to the things of God, in particular when said people do not want to be reorinentated. What I meant I guess by ‘pointing peole to God’.

I am glad you have been blessed by Elijah list. I agree, probably there is much good there. However, there is, IMHO, a lot of stuff that is wrong, and I find that deeply difficult to work with – for reasons I outlined above.

    Blessings,

    Peter

  30. The main problems with the prophetic movement today are:

    1. Ear tickling false prophets who say lots of good stuff but never call to account/call to repent
    2. The church only wanting to hear the above, so true prophets are pushed off the platforms
3 A lack of spiritual discernment in the church, not heeding the Berean call to test and weigh everything
    4. A feeling that to criticise false doctrine is bad so it is not rooted out when it is spotted
    5. The New Apostolic Reformation (C Peter Wagner et al) promoting their prophets as elite and not subject to criticism, while they yell at their critics ‘touch not my anointed!’
    6. A placing of power signs and wonders over scripture and the view ‘it must be from God because peple get healed’ etc so they accept a quack message. Also gnostic nonsense abounds.
    7. Merchandising the gift – prophets for hire, even for those who may operate in the true gift. This absolutely stinks.

    http://www.endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com

  31. Once again, sorry for the tardy reply. I’ll pop over to your side and take a gander :-)

Oh, and I agree with all your points. Prophets for hire is the one that gets me the most I guess. You cannot serve two Gods, how can one prostitute what God is saying for gain??

When God raises many prophets up, it’s a sure sign that all is not well in the Church.

    Blessings on you and yours!

  32. These folks are the “cultist” type. I live in Liberty, Missouri(suburb of Kansas City) and have first hand knowledge/contact/conversations with some of these people. Some of these people are a breakaway group from the International House Of Prayer(IHOP). These Liberty people were the ones that believed the center of revival would be in Kansas City several years ago. Obviously that did not happend, but they still have offshoot groups(such as the one in Liberty). Doug Perry seems to head this group/movement and Doug believes himself to be a prophet. Some of the things this group does, is to visit several Churches in the Liberty area, critique that Church and message, then go up and discourse with the Pastor. Usually, Doug rips the message, Pastor and Church and then post it on his website(which no longer exits). Doug had a business in Liberty called Built To Last Homes which is now gone out of business. Keep up the good work.

  33. Doesn’t sound like an especially edifying ministry that they have going there!

Glad you could drop by Jim.

  34. Hi Peter,
I am so pleased to find your website. I was saved on April 7, 1974. That’s a 33 year run. The Lord is so good. He’s good all the time. I like the reference of 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 made by “Padraic says” on October 1, 2006. It takes me back to an agreement I made with a friend. We each were just embarking upon our own individual personal ministries. I wrote up a document defining the way we had discovered, by the Word Of God, that we ought to live our lives each and everyday from that day forward. Then, completely committed to the Word Of God by obedience to that Word, we passionately signed our names. The document was, Word for Word, …

    …1 Thessalonians 5: 16-22…

    “16) Rejoice evermore.
    17) Pray without ceasing.18) In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ jesus concerning you.
    19) Quench not the Spirit.
    20) Despise not prophesyings.
    21) Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
    22) Absatain from all appearances of evil.”

We thought back then, this to be a Godly Standard by which to begin to live our newly found Christian Life. We were excited about what God would so in each of our lives. We were expectant above and beyond anything we had ever heard of oe thought of.

Today, some 33 years later, there has never been one day in which God and His Word have ever disappointed us. When Father said, “No!”, we learned Patience. When Father said , “Yes”, we experienced Great Joy. Right now I acknowledge the prompting of the Holy Spirit to share this Word with you on this website and also with all of the Church of Jesus Christ, who read this message…

    …Matthew 11:15

“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Thank you for inviting me to share with the Body Of Christ on this glad day.
    Judith L. Harless

  35. Welcome Judith and thank you for sharing that testimony :-)

  37. Peter, I missed this update somehow…
But thank you for the honor of being mentioned, ( even if it is just because we’re friends!) :-)

Blessings to you indeed friend and brother in the Lord Jesus Christ! May His word continue to be spoken clearly to and through you as a watchman on the wall.

    Hi Peter,

Thank you for answering my letter. Your site is very easy to navigate.

I got all excited, when I read your review of “Elijah List”. In the many and varied Christian circles I have traveled I have gotten the distinct impression, that “Elijah List ” was highly esteemed by ALL. I heard nary a negative comment.

I have to tell you something, Peter. My most favorite part of being a Christian, besides my Salvation, which out-shines all else, is when God speaks to my heart. I love Him! And I love it, when He speaks to my born-again heart! Isn’t He Wonderful!

Well, recently my passion for the prophetic Word of God began to burn hotter. The thought crossed my mind, that “Elijah List” might have, that for which my heart was yearning. I wanted a Word! Doesn’t everybody sometime in their life?

I logged onto the Elijah List website and hungerly began to read. I was amazed at the massive amounts of essays, which had been submitted, as prophecy. Some of what I read spoke to my heart a little. Much of it did not at all. And none of it really filled the God-given void in my heart, that He reserved for Himself, and for Him alone.

A lot of the submissions seemed to go on and on about conferences coming up, and books people had written, and special calendars. There was a whole lot of selling going on. I remember thinking, that I didn’t like that part of the site. My hungry heart was after God. God and His spoken Word!

I just had the impression, that much of the content of that website was not tried and tested. This was “my” thought all while I read the material. The site was quite prolific. There was too much of it for it to be true, I felt. It was, as if, it were all coming off an assembly line. They sent me four to six so-called prophecies everyday. This is just “me”, but I didn’t have a good feeling at all about the site.

So, I REMOVED myself from the site. As I was attempting to do this, I found, that their unsubccribe link didn’t work for me. I finally, after many tries, (and, I was getting a little frustrated I’ll have to admit) was able to succeed in being removed. They don’t send the stuff anymore. They didn’t acknowledge, that I had unsubscribed either. I wonder about that too. All sites, that I have ever dealt with , all thank you, and then acknowledge your removal. Do I sense an infection of arrogance or pride? As I said before, this is just “me”. Maybe I’m overthinking.

It’s possible I just don’t belong there. It could be God’s way of moving me on to find your website. Being led by the Spirit is an exciting Life.

The things you wrote in your review of “Elijah List”, Peter, witnessed to my heart. Your Word, I believe, to be a true Prophetic Word of Warning to the entire Body Of Christ. The “Elijah List” may be popular and well-known, but this does not make them exempt from the possibility of error. The Wisdom of God is needed here.

If Paul examined himself everyday, and he did, shouldn’t we esteem it to be a good practice for each of us? Even for “Elijah List”?

All I am saying is, that we each, myself included, need to check our own selves. If I have written anything, that is untrue, I do ask your forgiveness, and I stand corrected.

I love reading all of the submissions. And, I am glad I found you, Peter. Thank you for being here for all of us. I hope I wasn’t too blunt, or as you said, harsh.

    Blessings to you all,
    Judith L. Harless

  40. You’re very welcome Judith, I’m glad I could be of some help to you. I’ll update this page again as and when it seems good.

    Blessings!

    Peter

  43. Thank you….would you like to give your name?

  44. Hi There Peter
I found your site by doing a Google search on the name Doug Perry, and it obviously picked up the comment above by Jim W.
Contrary to what Jim states above, his website has not shut down, probably had a name change during the course of the years, and is now operating under the name of http://www.fellowshipofthemartyrs.com.

I do feel Jim did over exaggerate what Doug does, but without commenting further, I wonder, Peter, if you would take a look at the site, also if you can, go into the Forum, and tell me what you feel in your Spirit about the teachings & the work being done there.

I feel you have been very unbiased on your comments of other prophetic ministries, and I have enjoyed and learned a lot about what you have written.

I apologize for remaining anonymous at this time.

  45. Hello Anon,

I would like to comment, but I don’t really feel able to without knowing more about these guys, and just at the moment I don’t have time to go in depth.

No major red-flags on one skim, but that really doesn’t tell much one way or another. I quite liked the disclaimer:

This site is meant to be just a plain, direct reporting of how miserably, horribly, devastatingly badly we – the Christians in the West – have mismanaged the massive gifts which God has entrusted to us. Maybe we can change directions if we try something different. Maybe if we started listening to God really well and obeying radically, no matter what the cost. Yeah, that might work.

Although we’re perfectly capable of it – we’re not trying to impress you with our fancy web design, marketing savvy and slick Madison Avenue ad techniques. Truth is Truth. Your heart knows the difference.

No, they’re certainly not trying to impress me with fancy web design, that I can testify to ;-) As far as the rest, perhaps it requires seeing into the heart behind the words, and that’s not something I can do with one quick scan. However, I’ll keep my eye out for more, thanks for the heads up.

  46. Thank you so much for your response.
And thank you for scanning the site.

I have been involved with the fellowship for a little while, and there are some little things that are just not sitting right with me (little things behind the scenes that are not published on the site). But I’m still trying to discern what is Holy Spirit warning, or the enemy trying to cause division.

But I know I need to take this to the Lord anyway, and I know He will show me in His time.

    Blessings

  47. Anon, you may well be in a far batter place to judge – may the Lord grant you discernment!

  50. I have recently published my first book entitled, “Be Filled with Virtue.” It is prophetic in nature. If interested you can purchase it at Publish America or do a google search you can probably find it at a discount price through other online stores. Our ministry name is Mighty Rushing Wind Ministries. We believe in the full counsel of God which includes the five fold ministry. Not everyone is going to receive the prophetic ministry. This is a biblical truth. Jesus Himself came in the prophetic office and was rejected by His own. Scripture declares, “the capstone rejected by its builders.” This is a dynamic the prophetic ministry must learn to accept. It is a sad thing to those of us who are called into the prophetic office because our hearts are grieved for Gods people. The true Christ like prophetic ministry is meant to reveal Christ as, “the voice of one crying out in the wilderness.” The cry is still the same, God is saying, “why would you perish, turn to me all you nations and be saved.” The last book of the bible (Revelation) says many times over, “let him who has ears hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.” It also states in chapter 22 that the whole bible is prophetic in nature. Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book. Truly the whole church is a prophetic bride who was born by the water and the blood that poured out from Jesus side as He suffered and died.

  51. When God created Adam he first put him to sleep (symbolic of Christs death) and then birthed Eve from the rib of his side. Then Adam stated, “this is flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone.” The nature of the church is become, “flesh of His flesh and bone of His bone,” meaning the churches true nature is divine and from above and not from the earth. New Jerusalem is from above. As scripture says, “we have this treasure of excellency in earthen vessels. Gods treasure of excellency is the divine nature of the Holy Spirit living in us, breathing into us the very eternal life of God that was victoriously given through Christs Resurrection! Jesus said, “I Am the Resurrection and the Life!” This is the prophetic mandate of the church to live and impart that same Life of Christ that overcomes death, sickness and disease.

  52. I will try to look at it soon, Patmos voice.

  53. Wondering how everything is?

  54. Fine thanks, just swamped with boxes after a house move!

    Blessings,

    Peter

  55. You wrote: “However I have come to believe dispensationalist pretribulation is wrong, both in the denial of Christs’ sacrifice as sufficient for all people – Jews included; and in the the convenience of a theory that allows us to live in comfort now – to be whisked away at the first hint of trouble.”
I am a committed pre-trib dispensationalist; I also believe that Christs sacrifice is sufficient for all people, Jews included, and the rapture of the church has nothing at all to do with the notion that “allows us to live in comfort now – to be whisked away at the first hint of trouble.”
A very good place to start in an understanding of dispensationalism is here http://www.middletownbiblechurch.org/dispen/dispensa.htm, There are other fine sites as well. You may contact me personally if you wish. Love in Christ, Keith

  56. Thanks for your comments Keith; I will try to research more when I can. I will not say I am an expert on these things, but I base my comments on what I have seen of the fruit of pretrib dispensationalism, as well what I have read on these things.

My main concern, frankly, is with the fruits, and it does still seem to me that there are some, likely not all, but still too many, who appear to have more faith in the rapture than they do in Christ. That’s not in any way intended as a personal comment, but as a general observation.

    Blessings,

    Peter
